A mechanical chronograph made in Switzerland in the mid-20th century in a 38mm 18ct pink gold case, what else is there to say?
The Dial
The original and unrestored dial is in impeccable condition for a watch of this age. The surface of the dial still glows in the same brilliant silver-white that it did coming out of the factory. The dual register dial carries only very light fading and spotting, far less than expected from a watch of this age, indicating the watch has been very well looked after throughout its life. The outer circumference of the dial carries a tachymetre scale (for use with the chronograph function) which remains clear and crisp to this day. The two sub-dials at 3 and 9 are imprinted with a circular grain and still read their original painted indices which, due to the condition, remain clear and effortless to read.
The Case
The case is one of the most exceptional features of this watch. Being so large, in such remarkable condition and made in 18ct pink gold (a much rarer choice of gold), this watch case is a rare find. The lugs feel strong and reliable, fitting the larger case very well and the edges are still well defined and unworn. Clearly the masterful work of the Swiss case-maker can still be recognised today.
The Movement
This 17 Jewel Swiss made chronograph movement looks clean and appears to run well and confidently as I test it here in my hand. Both the minute and seconds hands of the chronograph function run smoothly and I see little reason not to have confidence in its future performance.
Strap & Buckle
The watch is fitted with the black genuine leather strap that came with the watch, it shows minor scuffs and ageing though not enough to replace in my opinion. I can fit a strap of the buyers choice to the watch as long as the cost of the strap is covered by the buyer.
Conclusion
I'm a private seller, not a company so unfortunately returns aren't an option, unless of course the watch is broken when it arrives. I may ship 1-2 days after I receive payment, as I work full-time, and may not find time to get the package away immediately.
